Est. 1872
 
Site was settled in late 1850s.
Town was named in honor of M.E. Larkin
A school district was organized in 1858.
In the late 1860s a railroad was built.
Several businesses, a hotel, and an elevator
became established. Most businesses
disappeared with the railroad.
