Eureka!


 


"Eureka, I found it", shouted a small
band of hardy pioneers in August of 1857.
A spring of cool clear water near this very spot.
   Abundant drinking water was a strong factor in   
search for a place to settle. They soon agreed
that they had indeed found an ideal place and
laid claim to the area for a town site which
they chose to name Eureka!
