I am trying to find a Mabel McCoy, born in West Virginia around 1902 to Elam Ashby McCoy and Alice May (Talbott) McCoy. Mabel supposedly married into the Hanna(h) family somewhere in Kansas.
Also, I am trying to find out when Elam Ashby McCoy died, which I'm told was in Kansas around 1918/19. His body was returned to Barbour County, West Virginia, where he was buried with his parents and other family members.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post.

I am seeking info on my great grandmother Minnie Simmons. All I know is that she was born 7 Jan 1872 somewhere in Kansas and that her parents were both born in Germany. They moved to Lawrence Co Missouri before 1891 where she met my great grandfather Frank Herman Elbert. The only clues I have on her parents are a Rosalee Simmons (1829-1904) is buried next to Minnie & Frank's daughter in St Mary's Cemetery in Pierce City Missouri. And there is a William Simmons (1829-1881) buried in St Patrick's Cemetery also in Pierce City. Don't know if they were married or how they relate to Minnie.

Since I do not know which Kansas County is the birth place of Inez B. Parker, this is on the unknown county location.
In the Colorado census of 1920, Inez B. Parker gave her birth place as Kansas in 1900. She was married in Bent County, Colorado, on September 23, 1917, and gave her age as 17, so that would mean her 17th birthday had already occurred.
If anyone has the 1900 or 1910 census index for the State of Kansas, I would appreciate a check to see if this woman, or her family, is shown in either of these census records.

Topic: Cross Coffman and Campbell
From: Carolyn Westberry email@example.com
Date: Friday, May 11, 2001 11:22 PM
Timothy Cross was b in Maryland ca 1838 and mid 1860's he m Elizabeth Bradfield in Greene Co Pa. The family moved to
Washington County OH where they are seen in 1870. Their children were Thomas William, Lucinda Ella/Ellen, James R and Minnie.
The birth of Minnie is recorded in Washington Co for 1871 and the family is lost after that date. From family records we know that
Minnie had a daughter named Ella Campbell. We have found the death record for Lucinda Ella Cross in 1942 and Thomas William
Cross in 1957 in Los Angeles CA and as well have found an Ella Campbell whose father was a Coffman and whose mother was a
Cross. This Ella died in Madera Co CA 7 Dec 1947. Her death record states that she was born in Kansas 31 March 1892.
Did Timothy and Elizabeth (Bradfield) Cross move to Kansas from Washington Co OH?
Did Timothy and Elizabeth's daughter marry a Mr. Coffman in Kansas where they had daughter Ella?
Are ? and Minnie (Cross) Coffman buried in Kansas?
Any clues or leads on this family would be very much appreciated.

In 1858 Calvin C JAMES became the first Postmaster in Brushville. I would like to know what county Brushville is located in so maybe I can find out more about my ggg-grandpaw. He also built three log cabins on his place on Spring River. And one of the cabins was used as a school in 1859.
Any help find find out the death date would be of great help THANKS

Brushville post office was established first in McGee County, then it was in Cherokee county, which was established 18 Feb 1860 - I *assume* when the county boundaries changed. Dates were 08 Dec 1858 to 17 Dec 1860; 16 Jan 1861 to 23 Sep 1862; and 09 Jul 1866 to 17 June 1867. I don't know why there are 3 sets of dates - maybe the location changed slightly? info from Kansas Post Offices by Robert W. Baughman
