Willis "Sam" SPITSNAUGLE

Willis "Sam" Spitsnaugle, 83, Loveland, Colo., formerly of WaKeeney, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at McKee Medical Center, Loveland. He was born June 16, 1924, in WaKeeney to Willis and Ruth (Olsen) Spitsnaugle. He was a 1942 graduate of Trego Community High School. He married Elaine A. Bollig Spitsnaugle on Aug. 29, 1922, in Ellis. She died Sept. 13, 2008. He worked for IBM. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving during World War II.

Survivors include a son, Tom Spitsnaugle, two daughters, Vicki Skroch, and Kim Schwartz, four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the WaKeeney City Cemetery, with Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney, officiating and military rites by Fort Riley Color Guard.
