Merle A. Sherfick, 78, WaKeeney, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney.

He was born Nov. 10, 1931, in rural Trego County to Walter and Neva (Morton) Sherfick.

He married Velma (Keller) Sherfick on Feb. 21, 1957. He was a farmer. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a brother, Morton Sherfick; and three sisters, Loretta Tow, and Jane Norseen.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ogallah Christian Church; burial in Ogallah Cemetery, with military honors by Fort Riley Color Guard.
