Rose Marie Rome, 94, Hays, formerly of Damar, died Saturday, July, 8, 2006, at Hays Medical Center. She was born Aug 11, 1911, in Victor, daughter of Peter and Anna Maria (Braun) Rome. She graduated from cosmetology school In Salina and enlisted in the US Air Force, serving in England, France, Germany, Japan and several bases in the US during World War II. She retired from the service in 1963 and receIved her LPN license in California. She was a licensed practical nurse until her retirement.

SurvIvors include a brother, Bob Schamber; two sisters, Laura Bauck, and Tony Campbell; a nephew, Leonard Schamber, and Linda; a great-niece, Erin Hernandez; a great-nephew, John Schamber; and many other nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Alex Rome, Pete Rome, Andy Rome, Richard Schamber, Alfred Schamber, Leonard J Schamber and Clarence Schamber; and five sisters, Hilda Ross, Margaret Nagliera, Helen White, Leona Stange Brungardt Befort, and Olivia Rome.

Burial in Kansas Veterans Cemetery, WaKeeney.
