Theodore 'Ted' Malsom, 84, Collyer, died Friday, July 3, 2009, at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter.

He was born Sept. 24, 1924, in rural Trego County to Fredrick and Mary (Keller) Malsom.

He married Marcella (Dinkel) Malsom on Aug. 14, 1945, in Collyer. She preceded him in death May 29, 2005. He was a owner and operator of Malsom Construction, Topeka.

Survivors include a son, Ray Malsom; three daughters, Linda Nunnery and Charlene Malsom, and Beverly Brouhard; five brothers, Larry Malsom, Tony Malsom, Charles Malsom, John Malsom, and Jim Yanda; a half-brother, LaVerne Malsom; a sister, Kathy Reitmayer; three half-sisters, Barbara Kinderknecht, and Carol McIntosh and Rita Mader; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Schweitzer; and a grandson.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Collyer; burial in St. Michael Cemetery, Collyer.
