Patricia Ann Cochran, 64
Patricia Ann Cochran was born at her parentÕs home in Garden City, KS, on July 21, 1945. She was the youngest of nine children born to Alto Faye and Freddis Fern (Thomas) Hands. She passed away Saturday, January 16, 2010, at her home in WaKeeney at the age of 64 after a courageous battle with cancer.

As a child, Pat attended schools in Garden City and WaKeeney.
On December 31, 1962, Pat married Robert Joe Spena in Garden City. They later divorced. He passed away September 3, 2007. On July 19, 1980, she married Henry Ries. They divorced and he passed away May 27, 1998. On December 9, 2000, Pat was united in marriage to Jerrold Allen Cochran in WaKeeney. He passed away September 15, 2007.
PatÕs creative HANDS prompted her to open and operate a craft store she named ÒThe Hobby HuddleÓ. She loved dogs and Totsy Anna was truly her guardian angel. Pat often babysat dogs for other family members. She also enjoyed bowling and lounging in her backyard. She treasured the times she spent with family and grandchildren. Pat was instrumental in keeping her family in touch by organizing family reunions once a year.
Survivors include a son, Scott Spena; a daughter, Brenda Newcomer and husband, Steve; four grandchildren, Kyle Spena, Mitch, Whitney and Lexsie Newcomer; a brother, Ron Hands and wife, Delores; two sisters, Marilyn Black and Bonnie Hardin; her best friend, Barbara Carlson; many nieces and nephews; her guardian angel, Totsy Anna; and a host of grand dogs.
Those preceding her in death were her parents; her stepfather, Ob Reeve; her stepmother, Marie Hands; her husband, Jerrold; three sisters, Evelyn Miller, Barbara Johnson, Tresa Smith; and two brothers, Dale and Donald Hands.
Memorial services were held Friday, January 15, 2010 in Church of God at WaKeeney with Pastor Troy Miller officiating. Inurnment will be in the Valley View Cemetery at Garden City at a later date.
