Eileen L. Ewing Brackney, 89, WaKeeney, died Monday, March 2, 2009, at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney. She was born June 9, 1919, in rural Gove County to Richard and Martha (Custer) Ikenberry. She was a graduate of Quinter High School and attended Brown Mackie College, Salina. She married Roger Ewing. She later married Cecil "Pete" Brackney on July 29, 1978, in WaKeeney. He preceded her in death May 10, 1997. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Judith Fabrizius; a step-son, Clark Brackney; a grandchild; five step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter; a step-son, Charles Brackney; and a step-daughter, Charlene Boone.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Presbyterian Church, WaKeeney; burial in Baker Township Cemetery, Quinter.
