The objectives of the Wilson County Historical Society are:
1.
      
 To encourage interest in local history
2.
      
 To collect, to preserve, and to display historical records and artifacts of Wilson County families and to the State of Kansas
3.       To promote the preservation and marking of historical buildings and sites within the county
4.       To cooperate with the Kansas State Historical Society

The society holds general meetings three times during the year and the board meets the 2nd Monday of each month, usually at the Fredonia Public Library. Current officers of the society are: President - Emma Crites; Vice President - Joan Richardson; Secretary - Mary Jean Browne; Treasurer - Lucille Doyle; Membership Secretary - Jean Vorhees.

The research committee will do genealogical research for $10 an hour (minimum charge of $5). Send research requests to the Wilson County Genealogical Society, 420 North 7th Street, Fredonia, KS 66736-1315 or e-mail. Please indicate the maximum number of hours you are willing to pay for.
