Hughes, Stacy and Parker
Researching my family genealogy. Hamilton Hughes and his wife Mary Ann (Burch) came to Pratt County in about 1898 from Iowa. Some of their children followed them to Pratt County: Richard R Hughes, Frank D Hughes, Riley Hughes and Sarah Jane Hughes. Sarah Jane Hughes and her husband Corkin B Stacy and their three children also came to Pratt County: Harry N Stacy, Adda L Stacy and Carrie Maud Stacy from Iowa. Accompanying Carrie Maud Stacy was her husband Harlan R Parker. Carrie and Harlan had 5 children born in Pratt County: Oral, Orval, Anna, Leonard and Virgil. Orval Parker would remain in Pratt County, where he would marry and raise his family (many of his descendants still live in Pratt County today). Leonard and Virgil would open a car dealership in Hugoton, Anna would marry and move to Garden City, Kansas and later to Lamar, Colorado. My grandfather Oral Parker would move to Eads, Colorado in the 1930. Many members of the Hughes and Stacy families are buried in the Byer Cemetery.
Kimbell- Kimball , Gaskill families in Pratt County, Kansas
I am trying to find information on my Grtgrndfather , John Kimball- Kimbell who was a minister and did perform one marriage listed on the marriage records for Pratt County. The record stated that a marriage was performed at his residence in 1888. I believe that he was a circut rider for his denomination and may have possibly traveled thru Ks , Okla , and Ark. He married Sarah Jane Gaskill , who was from Pratt, having moved there from Mo. with her parents in 1879 . I also have a letter from my father talking about an Uncle , George Kimbell , A veteran of the Spanish- American war who lived in or near Pratt around the turn of the century. I would deeply appreciate any help you might be able to render.

Should I post a query for information about the families named in the Goodwin scrapbook? The parties I'm interested in are: Mr.and Mrs. Burt Goodwin (born around 1900) It appears that either Burt or his wife worked at the local phone company. They attended the Bolser family reunion on Aug. 16, 1936. I believe they are related to the Bolsers through the marriage of WM. H. Goodwin to Rosa M.Bolser on April 21, 1886. Michael all of Cullison.Families from Pratt are the Sam DeVault family, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Harrel, and Mrs. Jim Whitaker; the Burns families of Wichita and Haviland.
