Looking for information about Luther and Ann Brown, their son, Joseph, Joseph's wife, B. Brown, and their children, F. A. Brown (female) and Henry Brown.

The 1875 Kansas census of Fairmount, Leavenworth County, shows Luther (73 years old), Ann (72 years old), Joseph (32 years old), B. Brown (30 years old), F. A. Brown (13 years old) and Henry (9 years old). All were born in New York except Henry who was born in Illinois. The two kids, prior to March 1, 1875, have attended school for three months. All six migrated from Illinois to Kansas. Don't know when but suspect November, 1874.

The 1880 Census shows Luther, Ann, Joseph and Henry still living together in Fairmount. They are about five years older, of course. There is no mention in that 1880 family unit of F. A. Brown or B. Brown. Joseph is a widower.

The 1900 census shows Joseph, still a widower and living in Fairmount. Don't know when the others died, where they died or what happened to them.

Does anybody know what happened to any of these people?

I have 1835-1860 NY census information about Luther, Ann and Joseph. Believe Luther & Ann to be my ggg-grandparents but can't prove it. I share information willingly.

Thanks.

SONEMAKER, SONNAMAKER, SONNEMAKER, SOUNMAKER posted by GWEN Hogan on Thursday, March 11, 2004

I am researching Fredrick Sonnamaker b. abt 1823 in Hannover Germany. He served in the Civil war, enlisting in 1862. There is no information about his being mustered out of service. I know he had a son (George A. Sonnamaker) born in Leavenworth Co. KS in about 1852. I have no death information on Fredrick Sonnamaker.

This surname is spelled a variety of ways including; Sonnamaker, Sonemaker, Sounamaker (taken from his enlistment papers) Sonnemaker.

He was born abt. 1823 in Germany, he was a butcher by trade and served in the Civil war. His enlistment was in August of 1862 with no information about his muster out of service. I have no death information. He served with Union side in the 12th Reg. Kansas Vol. Co. A. I have his enlistment form thanks to the Kansas Historical society. Thank for your time

FULTON posted by Devon Harvey on Monday, March 29, 2004

Massie Jane Fulton died January 2, 1902 in Leavenworth County. She is buried in Elm Grove Cemetery on Leavenworth Road. I am desperately seeking her obituary, most likely listed in the Bonner Springs Chieftain. Samuel J. Fulton died 1884 and is buried next to her. Am also interested in his obituary, but Massie Jane's is the most important. This is a huge brick wall for me. Thank you.

OSBOURNE posted by Dick Padgett on Monday, April 26, 2004

I am searching for a record of death for William J. Osbourne, born in 1870 at the Fort Leavenworth Military reservation.

The family migrated to Virginia in 1890 and all the children with the exception of William came along which leads me to believe he died during that period as there is no records of him in the census records after 1880.

Any information anyone can supply will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
