I am currently researching the Stroble family line for my son. I know that his Great Grandfather (JULIUS STROBEL) and his Great Grandmother(EVA BROOKS STROBEL) were married in Leavenworth County in 1915. His Grandparents (BENJAMIN & KATHERINE) were Leavenworth citizens as well as his Dad. Can you help me with any additional info, such as parents of Julius and Eva. Benjamin was put into a farm foster home, but the family wouldn't talk about it, and I have no particulars.

I am researching the surname 'Davenport', who were residents of Leavenworth County. I am not having much success, but I have found evidence of Andrew Davenport in Leavenworth County in the late 1800's. I have the information after that period of time when the Davenport's migrated to SD, NE, and IA.

I am looking for my gggrandfather Henry Julius Schiller. He served in the Civil War with the Union Army, with the Regement from Booneville, Mo.

According to family records sometime in 1887 when he was living in Booneville, he was arrested and sent to Leavenworth. I don't know if it was the State Prison, but I think it was the Federal Prison at Fort Leavenworth. He was never heard of again. Is there a way to check prison records? Unfortunately, I live in California, so I can't do it in person. Is there someone who can check the records for me. I am willing to pay a fee for the research.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. I've been looking for him for 3 years.

My ancestor, Squire Boone Phillips, died on May 4, 1918. He was to have been buried in the Easton Cemetery but we have searched many times without finding a grave or stone. The death certificate says he was buried there on the 6th of May 1918 and the Undertaker was listed as A.W. Homes or Harris or something like that of Easton?. The readability of the death cert copy is pretty bad as is the original. If I can find the funeral home/undertaker, or whom ever has the records, we could find out exactly where Mr. Phillips was buried.

Do you have any lists or directories of Easton, Leavenworth Co., KS for the time period around 1918?

I noticed that a man named "Carl" posted a message on your site. He was trying to locate Mrs. Marvin Townsend (Formerly Christina Zollars of Tonganoxie) back in August 1998. She was known as "Chris" to her friends and family and was my grandmother. She passed away from lung cancer in Hermiston, Oregon in 1993. She is greatly missed by all that knew her. Reading Carl's posting sent chills down my spine. I felt obligated to try to respond. Carl's email address doesn't work now. Please pass on this info for me if you can. If Carl is still around feel free to give him my email address.

Hello,

I am researching a relative, Burrus S. Everett, who I believe died at the Western Branch, National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers on 12 Sep 1922. He was in the Civil War and per his pension record was cared for by the Home. I am trying to confirm that the hospital/home was in Leavenworth, Kansas and to see if they are still in existence. Any guidance or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Just read information on Mr. Ross. What a surprise to discover this article, that has been in our family's possession for decades, on the web!

As I am a great-grandaughter of Mr. Ross I am interested in any other articles/information that you may have regarding him or my great-grandmother, Sarah Allen. I have the article on the website and one other article regarding the George W.H. Ross, Jr. taken from the Atchison Globe dated, Wednesday, March 1, 1967, a picture of George, Sarah and youngest son, Samuel and a few pictures of my grandfather, James Oliver Ross (b1905 - dDec1982) as an adult.

Unfortunately, my grandfather, James, was only 1 of 7 of the Ross' children to live in adulthood and 1 of 2 children who had children that survived adulthood.

I have family names and other information that I am willing to share with interested parties or members of the Ross or Allen family.

I only know she was buried in Hubble Hill Cemetery in Tonganoxie, No dates there on her record in the Cemetery book. I would appreciate any reference of her or her family, (Christian Bury).
