HUME, LORD posted by Jamie Lynn Lord Westpfahl on Thursday, March 20, 2003

I am looking for information about my grandfather, Charles E Lord. His given name was Ernest James Lord the 2nd. He was born June 21st 1920. I believe his mother to have been a Hume, but I'm not sure. He had sisters, Janet, El, Hattie, and Dot, and a younger brother Roy. Those are the only ones I am aware of, but there may have been more. Grandpa was an electrician like his father before him. I'm trying to find out his mother's name (maiden name also) and if possible his father and mother's dates of birth. I'd like to take this as far back as I possibly can. I know there was a Schomaker (not sure of spelling) in my ancestry, but I'm not sure if it was his mother's maiden name or his maternal grandmother's maiden name or his paternal grandmother's maiden name. If anybody has any info or knows where I can get this info please help. My Grandma, his wife, is getting old and forgetful, but would like to get her deceased husband's ancestral information written out before she dies. Thank you!

JUMP, PINTZ, POINTS, STEVENS posted by Kara on Saturday, March 22, 2003

George Stevens b. abt 1840 and his wife Margaret (Mary, Maggie) Jane Points b 1842, KY lived in Missouri prior to 1876 with their children George b. 1867 MO and two daughters who died in a house fire before they moved to Leavenworth, KS. About 1876 Fred was born and according to family tradition, his father died 6 weeks later in a logging accident. The mother and two boys are in the 1880 census in High Prairie, Leavenworth, KS. After 1880 she and Fred left for Iowa and George Jr stayed in the logging industry. He, like his father, died in a logging accident about 1885 in Leavenworth Co, KS. I have found considerable information on the Points line but I need dates for the death of George Jr or Sr and where they lived in Missouri prior to 1876. I am happy to share information!

MOORE posted by Laverl Hilyard on Sunday, March 23, 2003

Does any one have the cemetery listings available for Mt.Muncie Cemetery in leavenworth Co.Ks.

In the 1880 census of leavenworth Co. I found Ira and Elizabeth Moore listed, I have reason to believe that they may have been burried there. I would like to have their birth and death dated. That way maybe I can find their obituary and find out where their children located.

Thanks to anyone willing to help me.

FAHN, HEIN, KUESTER, MUNCH, NIEHAUS posted by Susan Brown on Thursday, March 27, 2003

I was in an antique store and came across two photos of a family from Leavenworth, KS, taken around 1900. These are children. Their names were on the back, which is unusual. I would love to get these back to someone in their family. Maybe you could mention it in a newsletter.

The names on the first one are Mamie Fahn, Harold Niehaus, and Flora Munch. The second one has Maudie Hein, Mamie Fahn, Flora Munch, and Blanch Kuester. These girls appear to be wearing First Communion dresses.

These photos were taken at P. H. Bauer studio.

Thanks for the effort. I hope someone would like to have them. I don't have a flatbed scanner so I can't send the images along.
