STEVENS, WOHLGEMUTH posted by Beatrice Wilson Leach on Sunday, December 5, 1999

I am looking for any descendants of LUCY ANN STEVENS and George M. WOHLGEMUTH. They moved to Leavenworth, KS about 1885, George to be a patient of the VA Hospital, where he eventually died in 1893. Lucy Ann was my grandmother's older sister. Lucy was on the city directory until 1908, the date recorded on LDS records that she died. She had two sons and five daughters. Have some of their married names, wondering where Lucy is buried. We have visited George's grave (Ft. Leavenworth Nat. Cem). Any help would be appreciated. thank you, Beatrice Wilson Leach

CORDLEY posted by Pam Pipe on Friday, January 21, 2000

I am in the UK and researching the CORDLEY family that came to the US from England in 1833, and in particular Rev Richard CORDLEY who came to Kansas(Lawrence) in 1857 and stayed until 1875.

I am interested in references to CORDLEY in a book called "Portrait and Biographical Record of Leavenworth, Douglas and Franklin Counties, Kansas" published 1899 by Chapman Publishing Co of Chicago, reprinted by Higginson Book Co May 1998.

I am interested in pages 136, 137,138 and 226 from this book. (Found these courtesy of Debra Graden's "All Name Index" published 1998).

Since I cannot get to the Leavenworth Public Library in Leavenworth, Kansas where I believe the book is held, can anyone help?

Is anyone else researching this family? - I'd be interested to share information.
