William H WADDELL (b ca 1845/maybe Ireland) married Martha (Ellen) DREW ca 1870/maybe Leavenworth Co. I found a William WADDELL in the 1880 Mortality schedule/Leavenworth Co KS, states he died of a gunshot wound in Oct. 1880. Don't know if this is the same one. 1880 census shows Ellen DREW WADDELL as a widow with two children. One child was Garrett WADDELL b 1871/KS. Does anyone know these folks in Leavenworth Co???

I am looking for information on the PICKLAR(PIECHOWAIK) and VON GUTSKY families of Leavenworth. My grandfather, Thomas James PICKLAR(PIECHOWAIK), was born in Leavenworth on Dec. 29, 1903 to Franklin PICKLAR (PIECHOWAIK) and Mary VON GUTSKY. Franklin d.c. 1933 and Mary d.c.1913. Thomas' siblings were: Anna (married name Allison), Mary (married name Summers), Sophie, Margaret (married name Todd) and Martha. The family was Catholic. Franklin and Mary married in Leavenworth and were either German or Polish. Allegedly they arrived from Europe in NY on the same boat, Franklin a stowaway, Mary a paid passenger. Thomas James married Margretta Fyock of KC and had two children, Thomas Jr. (aka Doc) and Gloria Jean (my mom) Any information on these families would be greatly appreciated!!

I am researching the John McIntyre and Henry McIntyre family of Leavenworth, Kansas. The family came to Leavenworth from Dover, New Hampshire shortly after 1862. John and Mary Mcintyre are buried in the Mt. Calvary Cemetary in Leavenworrth. I am trying to trace John and Mary Mcintyre back to Irland. (We know Mary came in 1845)

I am a novice genealogist, and need help. My great- grandmother, Katherine RYNAZEWSKI, lived in Leavenworth for many years. Her obituary in the St. Joseph, MO, newspaper (1937), listed her as a member of the "Polish Alliance of Leavenworth." Does anyone have any information on this group? Her husband's name was Joseph L. RYNAZEWSKI, and I believe he died in Leavenworth sometime before 1920.
