About this Cemetery:
County research indicates this cemetery to be the second oldest in Johnson County. It was established as a Pioneer and Indian cemetery and went by several family names throughout time. Just up the stone stepson the west end is the only stone, erected in 1940. The stone lists the two Campbells, and contains the following inscription: ?Alexander and Nancy Gee Pioneers and early day settlers Merriam and Shawnee KS Parents D G Campbell founder of Campbelltown now Merriam.? To the west of this stone is the border surrounding this burial.
