Robert Lindley, 77, of Buenos Aires, Argentina, South America, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2002, at his summer home in Punta Deliste, Uruguay. He was born November 9, 1924 near Hill City, Kansas to Harry and Nina (King) Lindley, who preceded him in death. He attended grade school and high school at Lone Tree and Hill City. He was a drum major, editor of the yearbook and school paper, and other news- papers around town.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in World War" and received an honorable discharge. He attended the University of Kansas at Lawrence, Kansas; graduated from the University of Missouri; and received a Rotary International Scholarship to Zurich, Switzerland. He worked for Chicago United Press International and moved to Buenos Aires in 1953. He married Nina Livschakoff in, Buenos Aires, August 3, 1956.

He was a news correspondent for ABC Radio and NBC TV and was heard and seen from time to time in the U.S.A. He was a free lance writer through the World London Observer .He was president of the Foreign: Press Association and also wrote for the New York Times and London Times and was editor of the Chicago Sun Times and others. He is survived by his wife, Nina, of Buenos Aires; one brother, Russel A. Lind1ey and wife of Hill City, Kansas; two nieces, Evelyn Hayes and family \ of Edmond, OK and Eileen Collis and family of Longmont, Colorado; and two of his three cousins who his parents raised their own, Hallis King and Ellen Pa1mitier. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Hill;' City, Kansas. The body was cremated.
