I am attempting to find information on Jacob Cook WIZER, who according to information taken from his daughter, Charlotte Temple Wizer Green's obituary was living in the Lecompton area after the Civil War in 1869. Jacob and two sons fought in the War, the sons were killed, he survived and came to Kansas with Charlotte, where she met her future husband and married in 1876. Nothing is known about what happened to her father, Jacob.
I have visited the Maple Grove Cemetery, west of Lecompton, and found the same surname, WIZER, but did not find a Jacob. I would like to know any information available, and would like to know the name of the enitity who has the cemetery records, so I can try to contact them, with the hope of finding Jacob's name listed there. William Henry SCHOFIELD (b. 4 Mar 1823 Yorkshire, England d. 16 Aug 1889 possibly Brooklyn, NY). Arrived in Wyandotte fall of 1859 from Ohio with wife and four children. 1861 he moved to Douglas County (Baldwin City) where eldest daughter, Emma, attended Baker College. I believe his youngest daughter, Mary G. Schofield was born in Douglas Co. about 1862, and I believe his wife (first name unknown) died in Douglas Co. about 1862. He m2, Louisa THAYER Beardsley 7 Nov. 1865 in Baldwin City. Schofield was an agent for Baker College. I'm looking for any information on Schofield, especially any information on death of first wife, information on 2nd wife, etc. He left Baldwin City in 1868 and founded Williamsburg, KS and built a railroad.
