I would like to hear from anyone related to the Whistler family of Burlington, Coffey County, Kansas. John Harrison Whistler and his wife, Lydia (Blackburn?) Wallace Whistler were early settlers (ca 1857) of Burlington. He was an army officer, Indian trader, and farmer. By his first wife, he had five children: William, Mary, John H. Jr., Joseph, and Leora. By his second wife (Lydia) he had three children: George Garland, Henry and Lydia. Related families are: Sands, Grimes, Goodell, Flook, Reid/Read/Reed, Parsons, Kinzie, Manson, Fiscus, Dyker, Remy.
