MUNZ posted by Deborah Bailey on Sunday, August 15, 2005

I am looking for Mary Ann Munz, 1900 Census Key West Twp. age 65, with two sons, Louis and John, and grandson, Wm. Bissel. Mary Ann Munz probably died after this census, as I cannot find her. She was born in New York in 1835, her husband died prior, husband name Mathias. Can someone look for death notices and obits for me? Her two sons were in Meade County in 1910 and 1920 census. Thank you for any info.
KIGHTLINGER posted by Ken Herman on Friday, September 9, 2005

My GGF, Abraham Kightlinger enlisted three times in the OH Volunteer Infantry. He was wounded, captured and sent to Andersonville Prison in GA and one additional prison prior to his release at the end of the war. He moved to Tazewell County, IL and finally to Coffey County, Burlington, KS. He was buried in Burlington, having died on 27 Jan 1890, in an Old Soldiers portion of the cemetery and has quite a nice headstone on his burial site. I heard from an OK cousin the other day that his son, Elmer Ellsworth Kightlinger, my GF was buried there as well. His mother, Cynthia Ann Grubb Kightlinger may be buried there as well.
Could someone do a lookup to see it any of this is true? I feel sure Abraham was buried there as copies of his obituary including a link to a photo of his headstone are available online. Thank you so much for any assistance. Sincerely, Ken Herman.
VANDEVORT posted by Linda E. Asaro on Monday, September 19, 2005

Looking for James & Lucretia VANDEVORT. Both born in the 1850's in Jackson, County Ohio. Had a daughter, Blanche, there in 1888. Found info that said Lucretia died in Coffey,Kansas. Her maiden name was MAKINSON. Can't find any info on them at all after 1888. Am guessing that they died before 1900 and that Blanche was married by then.
Lucretia was my great-grandfather's sister. I have lots of family info to share. anything you might know would be greatly appreciated. Linda from New Jersey .

SHAFER posted by Tara Anderson on Sunday, December 18, 2005

I am looking for the marriage of William Humpshire SHAFER and Nellie (UNKNOWN) abt 1897. They are on the 1900 Coffey Co Census with their son, Leroy Scott SHAFER. They divorced before 1907, as William remarried in Washington state in 1907. Nellie's middle name may have been Juanita, as that is how she is listed on the 1920 census in Washington.
Any help in identifying Nellie would be great. Are there birth records in Coffey Co for 1900? Leroy Scott SHAFER was born there 14 Mar 1900. Thanks for any help.
