My grandfather Orval WARREN was born in St Francis, Kansas.  His father was Jasper Leeland WARREN and they lived in or around St Francis before moving to Nebraska.  I am unable to find many records or information about my grandfather Orval whom died when I was a young child.  Any information to lead me a new direction would be great.

BOUCHER...SENGER
Kaycee Dye (DyeKM@ci.north-platte.ne.us)  5 June 2007
My name is Kaycee Dye and I live in North Platte, Nebraska and work at the North Platte Public Library. The reason I’m mailing you is to see if you would have any information on a man who got married in Bird City, Kansas in 1958.

We had a lady come to the Library who works for the local hi-rise retirement home here in North Platte. There was a gentleman living there who passed away on Monday. He only talked about a daughter and no one else. They found a marriage license in his personal belongings and nothing else that might give information on living relatives. He had also shown pictures in his wallet to people but no one knows who the pictures are or they don’t remember. We were wondering if you might be able to find any information on him through the marriage license? They filed for the license on November 14, 1958

Donald BOUCHER of Bird City, Kansas, age 30
Freda SENGER, of Bird City, Kansas, age 19

Married on November 16, 1958, the certificate was signed by Ralph R Radkoff (spelling ?), Pastor

It is stamped with the Cheyenne County Seal with the date 11th day of September 2003. We can’t read the words that are stamped by the seal, just the date that was written in. The name of the Clerk of the District Court in 2003 was Sharon Elliott, anyway it’s her signature by the stamp. Also on the top of the page is P.J. no. 3808. I don’t know what that means.

Thank you for any help and let me know if there is a cost involved. We would love to find someone to let them know he’s gone if there is anyone to find.

ENOS
Charles Enos (cden1@comcast.net)  6 May 2007
From various family stories I've been led to believe that my Great Great Great Uncle William George ENOS died in Jaqua, Kansas April 1, 1913 and in buried in the Jaqua cemetery.  If this is the case, then he has some connection to Cheyenne county and could be included in the list of surnames.  I'm trying to confirm when/where he was born and how long he had been in Cheyenne county.  I believe he - and perhaps some of his children - came from Decatur county sometime after 1895.

KRUSOR
Kenton Krusor (rkkrusor@netins.net)  29 January 2007
Looking for any records of James Wesley KRUSOR, Clara KRUSOR, or Jesse Alexander KRUSOR.  I was told by family members that James W. and wife Clara KRUSOR claimed land (160 A?) by either homestead or bounty land grant sometime between 1885-1890 near Bird City, Kansas.  Their son, Jesse Alexander was born there too.  How may I find this information "on line"?

BARTLETT...CRABTREE...WILLIAMS
Sherri Gregory (sgregory1@neb.rr.com)  13 January 2007
The BARTLETT family moved to Cheyenne County, Kansas from Jewell County, Kansas, in about 1900.  Their homestead land is located in the north part of the county in Cleveland Run Township.  The BARTLETT 's are buried in the St. Francis and Goodland, Kansas cemeteries.

The CRABTREE family moved to Cheyenne County, Kansas from Cass and Otoe County, Nebraska in the early 1900s.  They made their homestead claims in Cleveland Run and Cherry Creek areas.  CRABTREE family members are buried in the St. Francis, Kansas and Haigler, Nebraska cemetery.  Some of the family moved back to Cass and Otoe counties and are buried in the Douglas, Nebraska cemetery.

The WILLIAMS family came to Cheyenne County, Kansas around 1895 and made their homestead along Cherry Creek on land that is now part of the Mills Ranch.  William Henry and Elizabeth WILLIAMS are buried near the Mills Ranch home.
