Obituary of LAWRENCE E. "BILL" EDWARDS
Lawrence E. "Bill" Edwards, 74, of Leon, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000 at his home in Leon. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

He was born June 30, 1925 at Whitewater to William R. and Mary S. (Cornellius) Edwards. He married Norma Williams at El Dorado on April 6, 1948. She survives.

He spent most of his life in the Leon area and was a driver for Hogoboom Trucking. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to camp.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Vernon L. Edwards and Kenneth D. Edwards, both of Leon; two daughters, Belina Hiedeman and Eugina Henn, both of Leon; one sister, Birdene Root of Newton; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas D. Edwards on Oct. 8, 1981; three brothers and one sister.

A memorial has been established for the American Heart Association. Contributions may be sent in care of Carlson Funeral Home.
