Obituary of CLARA E. (GOWER) BLACKMORE
Clara E. (Gower) Blackmore, 78, of Littleton, Colo., died Monday, April 3, 2000 at Littleton. Services were held April 7 in Littleton.

She was born Sept. 22, 1921 in Wichita, to George H. and Lottie M. (Biddle) Gower, Sr.

She was a graduate of El Dorado High School and El Dorado Junior College, earning her teacher's certificate and teaching in rural Butler County. She also was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell for many years before becoming a homemaker.

She married Kenneth Blackmore in 1940 in Wichita. He survives. They lived on many Army posts in the United States and Germany.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Kenneth D. Blackmore of California; two daughters, Cathy Boatrite of California and Debbie Barton of 
North Carolina; two brothers, George Gower of Enid, Okla. and Ernest Gower of El Dorado; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Terri Justin.

A memorial has been established for the Alzheimer's Association. Contributions may be sent in care of Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado.
