Dermot, a little village in the northwest corner of Stevens county, is located in the valley of the north fork of the Cimarron river about 16 miles from Hugoton, the county seat, and 40 miles south of Hartland, which is the nearest railroad station. Dermot has a money order postoffice and is a trading center for the neighborhood in which it is situated.
