UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
 
GERMAN AND ENGLISH SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
BEGAN IN A STONE DUGOUT
SOUTH OF THE PRESENT SITE IN 1873.
IN 1885 THE CHURCH WAS NAMED
"THE IMMANUEL CHURCH OF THE EVANGELICAL ASSOCIATION
OF NORTH AMERICA".
THE CURRENT CHURCH STRUCTURE WAS ERECTED
ON THIS SITE IN 1901.
 
ERECTED BY THE CHURCH AND THE DOWNS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
