THE CARTHAGE TOWN COMPANY, INCORPORATED Capital Stock, $20,000.00
Carthage, Kansas, April 2, 1885
H. Llewellen Jones
Dear Sir:
Yours of Nov. 23 received.
Carthage lots are priced at $75 to $150 for business lots
and $20 to $50 for residence. The town is growing nicely.
There are good school
sections from six miles out and farther,
most of the school land sold has been at three dollars
per acre.
Pre-emption and homestead claims are about 12 to 20
miles from Carthage if you want good ones.
I don't think it would be advisable to start Abstract Books
till our County is organized. We think Carthage promises
well for County Seat.
Yours,
Myers & Evans
