The Information Technology Division oversees several major programs:
- KICNET--the statewide networked messaging system for interlibrary loan
- Kansas Interlibrary Loan Directory(KILD)--ILL addresses, hours, contact people, policies, etc.
- Kansas Library Catalog (KLC)--an online catalog of library holdings statewide
- Kansas List of Serials (KLS)--a subset of the KLC listing specific periodical holdings of 132 Kansas libraries
- KanFind Online Database Service--includes several OCLC FirstSearch databases, Gale Group's InfoTrac Web and SIRS Discoverer.
- Kanguard Internet content filter for public libraries in Kansas.
In addition, the following services are provided by staff:
- Assistance with e-rate technology and telecommunications discounts
- Assistance with ILL statistics and general ILL issues
- Coordination of input to the Kansas Library Catalog
- Maintenance of holdings on the Kansas List of Serials
- Internet training and workshops
- Technical support for computer- and technology-related questions
- Assistance with planning for automation
- Assistance with specifications for equipment purchases
- Administration of the State Library LAN
- Hardware, software and network support for State Library staff
