The Information Technology Division oversees several major programs:

• KICNET--the statewide networked messaging system for interlibrary loan
• Kansas Interlibrary Loan Directory(KILD)--ILL addresses, hours, contact people, policies, etc.
• Kansas Library Catalog (KLC)--an online catalog of library holdings statewide
• Kansas List of Serials (KLS)--a subset of the KLC listing specific periodical holdings of 132 Kansas libraries
• KanFind Online Database Service--includes several OCLC FirstSearch databases, Gale Group's InfoTrac Web and SIRS Discoverer.
• Kanguard Internet content filter for public libraries in Kansas.

In addition, the following services are provided by staff:

• Assistance with e-rate technology and telecommunications discounts
• Assistance with ILL statistics and general ILL issues
• Coordination of input to the Kansas Library Catalog
• Maintenance of holdings on the Kansas List of Serials
• Internet training and workshops
• Technical support for computer- and technology-related questions
• Assistance with planning for automation
• Assistance with specifications for equipment purchases
• Administration of the State Library LAN
• Hardware, software and network support for State Library staff
