KIC Council Membership Agreement

This is a voluntary agreement by and between the _____________________________ (Name of Organization) and the KIC Council. This agreement outlines terms for participation in the KIC multitype library network. The KIC Council's purpose is to improve interlibrary loan and information services in Kansas. KIC Council membership is open to any Kansas library.

Libraries that agree to the terms outlined in this document are entitled to full KIC membership privileges, including participation at meetings of the KIC Council, interlibrary loan continuing education, and the availability of interlibrary loan resource people.

Participants in the KIC Council acknowledge the following responsibilities:

  1. Be informed about and abide by the interlibrary loan codes, policies, and protocols approved by the KIC Council;
  2. Provide basic interlibrary loan service to other KIC agreement signers at no charge;
  3. State their lending policies in the KICNET Participant Record if members of KICNET;
  4. Make materials in their circulating collection available for interlibrary loan;
  5. Participate in continuing education related to interlibrary loan;
  6. Add all new cataloged holdings to the KLC within one year of inclusion in the local catalog, and
  7. Maintain the accuracy of the library's KLC holdings.
This membership agreement shall be reviewed and re-signed every two (2) years.
